It is important to know the card values in baccarat. Cards from two to nine are worth face value. Tens and face cards are worth zero. Aces are worth one. The suit of the card – Hearts, Spades, Diamonds, and Clubs does not matter and is ignored.
Also, hand totals are a bit different to other card games but not complicated. The total of a hand is the sum of all cards. When the sum of the cards is two digits, drop the left digit. For example, a hand consisting of 6 and 7 is 13, but by dropping the left digit, the hand total becomes 3. In comparison, a hand consisting of 2 and 4 is 6, but there is no digit to drop so the hand total remains 6. In a hand with three cards consisting of 3, 1, and 8, the sum is 12, but by dropping the left digit, the hand total becomes 2. The best possible hand in baccarat is a "Natural". A Natural occurs when the total of the first two cards is an 8 or 9. A Natural 9 beats a Natural 8
